Day 2: Hue Day Ride
Hue is the city in the central of Vietnam that was the seat of Nguyen's Dynasty from 1802 to 1945.
Today you will ride (approximately 20 to 40 kilometres) through the fields to visit many of Hue's remarkable sites, including temples, bunkers, tombs, ruins, pagodas and spectacular scenery.

On your cycle you will visit the stunning Imperial Citadel, including the Forbidden Purple City. The latter was almost totally destroyed during the Vietnam War's Tet Offensive, but the foliage-covered ruins are still atmospheric and the gaping holes left by bombs give an idea of the destruction wreaked upon the country during the war. The itinerary is flexible and you have ample time for stops along the way to admire the sites. Later, kick back in a cafe or restaurant. Hue’s cuisine is considered by many Vietnamese as the best in the country, and is influenced both by its imperial heritage (small dishes and a focus on aesthetic presentation) as well as its strong Buddhist heritage, reflected in the high proportion of vegetarian restaurants in the region. The bustling Dong Ba Market offers a wealth of goods and foods to see and snack on. It's a good place to try some of the local specialities that graced the Nguyen emperors' banquet tables, such as the ‘banh khoai’, Hue's answer to the pancake.

Today our lunch will be whipped and served by a local family. After that, we will drive along Highway 1A to Dong Hoi city, to prepare for a later afternoon ride on the Ho Chi Minh trail to Phong Nha National Park. Enjoy a bit of up and down hills pleasure, but don't forget to take a look at the impressive karsts, stunning mountains. What our guests tell us...

Just a selection of our great Trip Advisor reviews!

"We had a lovely tour of the area with Kee.I believe we saw most of the interesting things in the Hoi An, Da Nang and Hue vicinity. The guide and driver were knowledgeable and genuinely care and proud of the area. With him you are a local. I recommend highly seven stars whether a leisurely tour by car or an aggressive one on a bicycle. They also work with an amazing yoga master instructor. This is your best choice."
